County accepts nearly $952,000 DFFM award for Glen Drive storm drain in Pipeline flood area

The Coconino County Flood Control District presented a budget amendment on April 7 to accept award funding from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) totaling $951,226.93 for the Glen Drive storm drain project in the Pipeline flood area (Peaceful Way corridor).
Flood Control District director Lucinda Andreani described the project as a relatively small but necessary lateral extension to an existing storm drain installed after the Pipeline wildfire. The work is intended to improve flood mitigation for properties between Peaceful Way and Brandi's Way and to finalize remaining infrastructure in the neighborhood mitigation work supported earlier with Natural Resources Conservation Service funds and other grants.
Andreani said the DFFM funds were remaining in a disaster response account and that the amendment will transfer the award into a project fund for design and construction. She estimated construction could proceed this fall, contingent on contracting and permitting, and thanked DFFM leadership for continued support. The board approved the budget amendment unanimously as the Flood Control District directors.
