Board grants limited contour waiver, flags cemetery buffer and RV park design; continues Millennium Granite and RV park items for 60 days
Summary
The board accepted 1:40 plans, granted a partial waiver for contours on temporary stockpiles, asked applicants to show mineral‑extraction limits and cemetery buffers, raised RV site slope and turning concerns, and continued the applications 60 days for revisions and additional tests including a fire‑pond pump test.

Applicants for Millennium Granite and the Baldill RV Park provided enlarged 1:40 plans and staff reviewed outstanding issues across both projects. Planning staff noted that mineral extraction uses require a 100‑foot buffer from a cemetery, whereas residential accessory uses typically use a 25‑foot buffer; the board requested clear labeling of mineral‑extraction limits and a notation that residential setbacks apply to accessory uses.
The board granted a narrow waiver for depicting contours on temporary stockpiles but said contours and topography around the old quarry and the cemetery must be shown. Staff asked for additional septic test pits, a profile for the RV park entrance (to address a steep 4–5% slope concern near the street), and updated turning templates to verify that RVs and trailers can maneuver safely.
The board also discussed the fire‑pond design and asked the applicant to coordinate a pump‑test with the fire chief. For these reasons the planning office was made the completeness agent for Millennium Granite, a partial contours waiver was granted (temporary stockpiles exempt), no additional traffic study was required at this time, and the board voted to continue the applications for 60 days so applicants can respond to markups and provide the requested profiles, test pits and pump test.
What happens next: applicants to submit revised plans showing quarry limits, contours where required, septic test pits, RV entrance profile and updated turning templates, plus a scheduled pump test of the fire pond; the board will review the materials at the continued hearing.
