Staff said the well was drilled to about 720 feet, produced a high static water level and that the well casing currently holds an estimated 1,000 gallons of storage.
Staff advised that quantity testing was complete but a site‑specific water quality test for the on‑site well had not yet been received; the applicant indicated a willingness to perform water quality testing if the board requires it. Staff and board members discussed whether to require on‑site quality testing before deciding whether to permit private wells or require an extension of the water main from Route 1, which is about 1,200 feet from the site.
Because of outstanding quality testing and sequencing concerns for stormwater and site construction, staff recommended and the board voted unanimously to continue the application for 60 days to allow the applicant to provide water quality results and address recommended performance guarantees.
