Pinellas Park says 60–70% complete on 110th Avenue force‑main; warns of multi‑week intersection closures

Pinellas Park public‑works staff told the city council and public on April 7 that the 110th Avenue force‑main installation is roughly 60–70% complete and that near‑term full closures will be required at the intersection of 110th Avenue and 58th Street to complete tie‑ins.

Ryan Mandraa, identified in the meeting as the city’s public works utility coordinator, said the orange line on the project map represents completed pipeline and the red line shows remaining work. "We have made considerable progress and have completed roughly 60 to 70% of the new force main project," Mandraa said, adding that crews still need to install one manhole, pressure‑test the directionally bored section, complete compaction testing and pave the roadway. He warned that two temporary complete closures of the 110th Ave/58th St intersection will be necessary, each requiring three to four weeks, to allow contractors to tie the new sewer main into the existing system.

Mandraa said the project is on track for completion "sometime early this summer" and urged residents to follow posted traffic detours during closures. "Please continue to use the traffic detours provided…we'd like to thank you for your patience as we work to improve the city's public health and utility infrastructure," he said.

The presentation was informational; no council action was required during the meeting. Residents and motorists near the work zone should expect multi‑week full closures and follow detours while the work is completed.
