The Glen Ridge Mayor and Council approved a packet of resolutions at their regular meeting, including payment of town claims, several event permits, the purchase of a police vehicle and authorization to apply for a state transportation grant.
Finance and administration committee chair Councilor Blackwood moved Resolution 115-25 to approve claims and warrants totaling approximately $4.5 million from the current fund, with smaller amounts charged to other funds. The council approved the resolution on a recorded roll-call vote.
The council then unanimously approved several event permits and associated temporary regulation suspensions. Resolution 116-25 authorizes a pop-up picnic in The Glenn with food, beer and entertainment on Wednesday the 23rd, with a July 24 rain date, contingent on submission and approval of an appropriate ABC license. Resolution 117-25 approved a social affair permit for an event at the women's club in July 2025. Resolutions 118-25 and 119-25 permit the Glen Ridge PBA Local 58 to hold a fundraiser and an off-premise 50/50 raffle on October 2, 2025, both at the women's club.
The council also approved Resolution 120-25 authorizing the Glen Ridge Police Department to purchase a 2025 Ford utility interceptor from Cherry Hill Winter Ford under a cooperative purchasing agreement for $93,743; the chief financial officer had certified availability of funds for the purchase.
Finally, the council approved Resolution 121-25 to submit an electronic grant application and, if awarded, execute a grant contract with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the Carter Street Road Improvement Project. The resolution authorizes the mayor, council and clerk to sign required documents and delegates signature authority for grant administration to municipal administrators and clerks.
All motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the meeting and each resolution passed on roll-call votes. No public comments were recorded on these items during the meeting.
The council adjourned after routine committee reports and event reminders.
