North Township honors winter athletes; coach and players recognized for record seasons

Coach Byum said he had to "restructure some things" after an 0–7 start to get the team on track.
Coaches for bowling, swimming, wrestling and track listed team achievements and individual statistics. Bowling coaches noted boys and girls white‑division championships and high-season averages and series (for example, Josh Goldenvarb’s 182 average and a high series of 685). Swimming coach Kerianne Ragavas said both boys and girls teams won white‑division sportsmanship awards and that the program has earned that county sportsmanship honor for many consecutive years.
Wrestling coach Dave Sally emphasized participation growth—more than 120 athletes across boys, girls, varsity and JV—and named multiple all‑division and All‑American honorees. Track coach Schwan Grimes highlighted a first-ever group four state indoor relay title and numerous school and county records set by relay and individual performers.
Principal Mr. Neller also announced that Shawn Morell was selected by Middle Sex County as athletic director of the year for 2024–25, praising Morell’s leadership and crediting him with program growth. The program closed with applause and continued recognition of athletes whose contributions will be memorialized on school banners and in gym displays.
