The Newburyport Conservation Commission discussed a proposal associated with a temporary sauna/operation linked to Prince Bang Skog / Stone Sauna Company on 082nd Street but found the applicant did not submit the requested site plan or signatures from the property owner. Commissioners asked staff to seek clearer documentation and to confirm whether the operator’s proposed 180-day limit must be consecutive under local zoning.
Commissioners said the submitted paperwork was incomplete and that they had expected the applicant to appear. One commissioner recommended the application explicitly state the 180-day parameter rather than a broad date range (for example, specifying 180 consecutive days rather than a start and end window). Staff noted that zoning usually treats temporary-use limits as consecutive days and suggested the commission could require clearer language or, if impacts warrant, elevate the review to a full Notice of Intent.
Because the commission lacked the signed plan and details it requested, it agreed to continue review of the 082nd Street item to the May 5 meeting. Commissioners also asked staff to follow up on signature and site-plan requirements and to confirm the exact allowable duration under zoning.
