Lincoln County commissioners voted to approve Healthy Lincoln County’s request to extend the deadline for using an opioid-settlement grant to Dec. 31, 2026.
County staff said the organization asked to move the board-set spending deadline from July to the end of 2026 so it can spend other, earlier-expiring funds first and use the county grant to complete its planned activities later in the year. The extension does not change the award amount; it simply lengthens the period during which the nonprofit may obligate the funds.
“They want to be able to use it throughout the rest of the year and have it complete their work completed by the end of 2026,” an administrator told the board, noting Healthy Lincoln County has complied with other grant conditions. A commissioner moved to approve the extension and the board approved it by voice vote.
Staff will notify Healthy Lincoln County of the extension and continue to monitor grant compliance and reporting.
