Toms River schools honor teachers and educational-service professionals across the district

The Toms River Regional School District opened its board meeting with an awards ceremony honoring this year’s Teachers and Educational Service Professionals of the Year from each school in the district.
Students from the district’s three comprehensive high schools—Tom’s River High School East, North and South—spoke to the board and highlighted recent athletics, theater and club achievements. Michaela from High School East congratulated award winners and announced Lori Rose as High School East Teacher of the Year and Colleen O’Donnell as Educational Service Professional of the Year. Alysia Leello and Michaela Manzy gave similar presentations for North and South, respectively, and principals presented honorees from every elementary, intermediate and high school across the district.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo and applause. Board members and the superintendent framed the recognition as a community celebration, noting the large number of staff and the contributions of long-serving employees. The meeting then moved to the business portion of the agenda.
The awards portion did not include any formal board actions beyond the public recognition of the honorees and a photo opportunity.
