Separately, the board approved declaring six aging buses surplus and authorized staff to put them up for auction. Staff said surplus buses typically sell for between $1,500 and $5,000 each and are often purchased regionally or shipped internationally for reuse.

The motion to authorize staff to proceed passed by voice vote; the surplus declaration passed by voice vote as well.
