Shaw described recovery‑court activities including community engagement (a Durham Bulls outing), Narcan and harm‑reduction training in partnership with EMS, a panel discussion on family support and a June 8 sequential‑intercept mapping meeting to identify service gaps. Strange shared a client success story about a participant who has engaged in treatment, delivered a drug‑free baby and is pursuing education and employment while remaining in treatment.
The clerk proclamation read by Chair Lee cited North Carolina General Statute 15‑153(a)(1.11) (transcript reference) requiring a board to appoint or designate a clerk and thanked Clerk to the Board Monica W. Wallace and Deputy Clerk Maceo Carlton; commissioners and Manager Hager praised the clerk office as essential to lawful, transparent county operations.
The board approved all proclamations in a single motion and unanimous voice vote.
