County schedules March 30 hearing for engineering satellite facility after zoning approval

County Development Director Eric Furnus told the board that last Friday the Board of Adjustment granted a special use permit for a secondary roads engineering satellite facility off Independence. Furnus said the board-approved permit addresses zoning and that the county had one local resident attend the adjustment hearing with questions about acreage.
The board set a public hearing on the proposed plans and cost estimate for the actual building project for Monday, March 30 at 9:00 a.m. after a motion and second. Furnus said the plans and specifications will be advertised after the public hearing and the project will be let in spring.
Furnus also reported that Wolf Contracting has started work on the conservation maintenance building at Petty Bone and that work is progressing.
The board took no additional action on the special use permit review; it approved setting the March 30 public hearing to review plans and cost estimates for the building project.
