Town staff announces March 24 transportation forum and reports recent approvals

Town planning staff reported several administrative updates to the Garner Planning Commission on March 9, including recent council approvals, staffing news and an upcoming transportation community forum.
Mr. Trezenberg said the council approved a small annexation on Stage Road and a site plan for the Quality Oil site. He summarized ongoing work on the Rock Corey case, which was continued for applicant revisions and later approved by council on a 4–1 vote after property-owner signatures were returned.
Trezenberg also said the town has selected a candidate for a Planner II position who is expected to start March 23, and he invited commissioners and residents to a transportation community forum on March 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Garner Rec Center. "We'll have about eight different tables and activities ... for anybody who's interested in transportation," he said, describing topics such as congestion, transit, bicycling and sidewalks.
The staff member noted a combined policy briefing with the full council and planning commission is scheduled later in April; staff said meeting times would be confirmed and public notices provided.
