Temple City council honors Emperor Elementary PTA for major fundraising

Temple City’s council formally recognized leaders of the Emperor Elementary School Parent Teacher Association at its May 21 meeting for raising significant funds to support the school.
Mayor Chavez read a certificate praising the PTA’s dedication and said the group had substantially increased fundraising by doing more work in‑house rather than relying on vendors. The mayor cited a fundraising figure in the range of $50,000 to $59,000. "We want to thank you and of course recognize you tonight," the mayor said as councilmembers joined to present certificates and take a group photograph.
Several PTA officers were introduced by name during the recognition ceremony, including PTA president Amanda Roblock and principal Myra Rell. Councilmembers noted the PTA’s events, such as movie nights, pie‑tasting contests and community festivals, as central to the fundraising effort.
Council members thanked PTA volunteers for supporting Emperor students and noted the school district and city share an interest in student well‑being.
