The San Luis Coastal Unified School District board took several formal actions Tuesday, approving election orders for trustee areas, adopting a staff-recognition resolution and awarding a construction contract.
By unanimous vote the board approved Resolution 182526 ordering the November 2026 election for trustee areas 1, 2, 4 and 5 and Resolution 192526 to consolidate the board election into the regular November election to reduce district costs. Trustee votes were recorded as yes by all seven members on the motions.
The board also adopted Resolution 202526, proclaiming May 2026 as Employee Appreciation Month and recognizing teachers, classified staff and administrators for service to students.
On facilities business the board approved a contract award for the CL Smith Phase 2 modernization (Bid #336) to Weissong Construction as the lowest responsive bidder (approximately $6.9 million), following staff recommendation and competitive bids. The board noted local contracting benefits and voted unanimously to authorize the award.
Consent agenda items including minutes, warrants, personnel actions, surplus Latin textbooks and purchase orders were approved without objection.
