The Nugget Conservation Commission voted on May 7 to approve an order of conditions for 6 New Hummock Circle (BAT 6, SE483977) that permits additions, a garage, patios, a porch, an outdoor shower and breezeway, and requires buffer restoration and ongoing monitoring. Conditions listed by staff included a prohibition on fertilizer in commission jurisdiction, a requirement that plantings within jurisdiction be native species with no cultivars, and annual monitoring reports (with photographs) until a certificate of compliance is issued.
Commissioners approved the order by roll call after a motion and second. The commission also employed its consent agenda to process several minor modifications and certificates of compliance, including a certificate for Nantucket Islands Land Bank (28 Washington Street, SE483772) represented by Liz Phelps and an extension request from the Nantucket Conservation Foundation (Kapam Road SE483645). Commissioners asked staff to confirm continuing conditions where applicable before issuing certificates.
The commission approved meeting minutes from April 16 and April 23, 2026 by roll call vote.
Next steps: staff will track monitoring submissions required by the BAT 6 order and ensure annual reports and any continuing conditions are filed and enforced as specified in the order of conditions.
