The Board adopted a motion to extend the PARS early‑retirement incentive application window to Feb. 19 and to designate the chief talent officer as administrator of the plan. Chief Talent Officer Tara Guard and a PARS representative briefed the board on the program and asked for extra time to accommodate employees who reached out after the initial window.
Guard said the PARS option is for employees 55 or older with five years in the district and at least 0.5 FTE; the benefit described was 75 percent of annual salary paid over time. She said approximately 1,066 employees met eligibility criteria and 145 had signed up so far; staff will hold drop‑in sessions (including Marcus Foster) and offer a Zoom option to assist employees.
A roll‑call vote approved the extension.
