LONDONDERRY — The Londonderry School Board on May 5 voted to expend a combined $663,590.63 from voter-approved capital-reserve funds to cover a package of facilities, technology and equipment needs.
Votes at a glance (all motions carried 4-0): - Buildings & Grounds capital reserve: $368,988.89 for roofing repairs, door replacements, HVAC work at the middle and high school, North School fire-alarm work, South School floor refinishing, district security updates and field improvements (motion by Amanda; second by Tim). - Information Technology infrastructure fund: $133,116.58 for network switches, infrastructure upgrades and schedule-related Aspen work (motion by Amanda; second by Tim). - Small Equipment capital reserve: $92,767.07 for classroom furniture, musical and athletic equipment and grounds equipment (motion by Amanda; second by Tim). - Vehicle & Machinery capital reserve: $68,718.09 for a new box truck (with district wrap) and a zero-turn mower (motion by Amanda; second by Kevin).
A district finance staff member noted the accounting work required for the requests and said the finance director did “a great job” assembling receipts and documentation for the audit. Each request followed the voter-approved purposes for the funds; board members offered no substantive opposition and approved each expenditure by voice vote (4-0).
What happens next: The expenditures will be executed by district purchasing and facilities staff and recorded for the upcoming audit and budget tracking. The administration said some work (parking lot permitting and staging for the district office project) will proceed as permits and scheduling allow.
