Planning Department staffer Denise Ta updated the commissioners on ongoing work to revise subdivision regulations and development agreements, reporting that a work group and a recent presentation to the planning commission are producing draft recommendations for the board’s consideration.
Ta previewed four items on the planning commission’s May agenda: the Bohatti planned development in Medina Township (single‑family homes with an extension of Ledgewood), the Bridalwood Reserve preliminary plan in Sharon Township, a Cobblestone variance request in Montville Township, and a Homer Township text amendment. She added that two map amendment requests from Brunswick Hills are already slated for a June agenda.
On grants, Ta said the county completed a monitoring visit for its PY24 CDBG and is wrapping up related tasks; the county is preparing its PY26 CDBG application (application cycle noted) and has received the executed CHIP grant agreement needed to start the environmental review record. Ta also announced that the Ohio Department of Agriculture awarded the county a $45,000 land‑use planning grant with a $5,000 county match.
Ta said county applications and program information are available on the planning department website and invited questions; commissioners praised the work group process and stakeholder engagement.
