Council approves well repair quote and adopts three resolutions including CDBG extension and roundabout right-of-way amendment

The Columbus City Council on April 6 approved a $48,918 quote from Downey Drilling Inc. to repair and line well No. 11 and adopted three resolutions covering a CDBG deadline extension, audit services and an engineering agreement amendment for right-of-way acquisition on a planned roundabout at 8th Street and 12th Avenue.

Council accepted Downey Drilling’s quote for well No. 11 repair and replacement parts; the motion passed by voice vote with no recorded roll-call tally announced. Council then adopted resolution R26-51 to request an extension of the completion date for Community Development Block Grant 23-DR-00003 (downtown revitalization) to May 14, 2027. The council also adopted R26-52 to accept Bergen KDV’s proposal for audit services for fiscal years ending Sept. 30, 2026–28.

Resolution R26-53 approves Amendment No. 1 to the engineering services agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc., not to exceed $90,749.40 for right-of-way acquisition and related services for the 8th Street and 12th Avenue intersection project. City staff explained the amendment is intended to acquire property and easements needed for the chosen full-size roundabout design; construction timing will depend on final budget decisions and contractor availability. “This year the amendment sets right-of-way acquisition in motion; implementation will follow your budgeting decisions,” a city staff member said.

All three resolutions were adopted by voice vote with no recorded roll-call tallies announced.
