Students, boosters ask board for Prop 28 transparency as boosters say they funded instructors

Jenna Matson, who identified herself as CFO for the Redondo Union High School band and guard boosters, formally requested the board add an action item to address parents paying for instructors in graded music and dance courses at a public high school. She said the boosters have contributed over $101,000 in the past three years to fund instructional staff for classes integral to the curriculum, and that a previously posted Prop 28 budget appeared to have been revised online without notation. Matson asked for clarification on revisions to Prop 28 budgets for the prior and current year.
The board did not take action on the request at this meeting but staff said they would provide follow‑up information and consider placing the item on a future agenda.
