Board approves Multitude K–2 screener to detect reading risks for 2025‑26

Allard summarized key operational requirements: the screener must be administered annually and should be delivered in students’ primary language when appropriate; testing takes roughly six to eight minutes per student; parents must be notified 15 days in advance and results communicated within 45 days. The board voted to approve the district’s adoption and implementation plan for the Multitude screener; training for teachers was scheduled for April 11 and May 16 with further planning before August implementation.
Outcome: The motion to adopt the K–2 screener passed (five yes votes; Member Thomas absent). Staff will implement training and report initial screening data next school year.
