The administrator reported that bid documents are being finalized for two New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) road-improvement projects under the Local Aid Infrastructure Fund 2024 and the municipal aid 2025 programs, naming several streets that are included in those submissions. An application submitted June 11 sought NJDOT local transportation project funds for storm-drain improvements and milling and paving on portions of Lacy Drive, Trench Drive, Perum Place, James Street and Elizabeth Street. A separate June 23 application was submitted for a 2026 municipal-aid roadway-improvement project for East Woodland Road, Lumen Drive, Creve Drive and Bridge Street.
The administrator also reported the borough submitted an EPA application tied to a previously awarded congressional appropriation for the Pine Avenue sanitary sewer rehabilitation project and said Bergen County Community Development is expected to confirm roughly $139,000 in funding for a roadway-improvement project. Staff said they will advertise bid opportunities after required agency reviews are complete.
The administrator concluded by reminding the public of holiday closures and the borough's next joint session on July 28. Council asked questions about timing and approvals; the administrator said progress depends on external reviews and approvals.
