CDC updates DPRP Data Portal, requires organizations to confirm profiles and attest delivery mode and contacts

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced updates to the Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program Data Portal and DPRP Registry that require organizations to confirm their profile information and attest to delivery modality and authorized contacts before submitting data, a webinar presenter said.
The changes, effective Aug. 1, 2024, expand public-facing details in the DPRP Registry — including organization address and email drawn from the portal — and make profile confirmation a prerequisite for data submission. "CDC will require that all organizations update and/or confirm the organization profile information prior to making each data submission," the agency official leading the webinar said.
Why it matters: the registry and portal information are used by prospective participants and by CDC for recognition communications. The presenter said organizations should keep authorized contact emails current because most communications and announcements are sent by email; failure to maintain accurate contact information could "result in an organization missing vital information and even risk losing recognition because of non-response." The portal requires a Program Coordinator (the only required contact) and allows Program Coordinator, Secondary Contact, and Data Preparer roles; only contacts listed in the portal have submission access.
The presenter walked through the profile changes users will see, including a delivery mode attestation checkbox and an "Edit All" option to correct details before confirming. "By confirming, you are letting us know that you understand Section I in the 2024 DPRP standards, the guidelines for session delivery, and you are agreeing that your organization will deliver the sessions as defined within that approved delivery modality," the presenter said. Organizations must check the delivery attestation box and press Save to complete the confirmation.
Contact titles in the portal are now selectable from a dropdown compiled from common entries; users can choose "Other" and enter a custom title if needed. The presenter emphasized organizations do not need to wait for their scheduled submission month to update contacts and that attestations for each listed contact must be completed before the overall page confirmation will proceed.
For help with data submission or portal problems, the presenter directed organizations to the Data Team at dprpdata@cdc.gov and to open a case through the National DPP Customer Service Center. For account lockouts or password issues, the presenter directed users to the SAMS Help Desk. The webinar concluded with a reminder to use the Customer Service Center for resources and to submit questions.
