Temple City — Donna Georgino, representing the Historical Society of Temple City, announced at the Feb. 4 City Council meeting that the new pictorial book Images of America: Temple City is now available. The book chronicles roughly 100 years of the city—s history, including the Chamilia Festival and local schools, and is priced at $27.
Georgino said the Historical Society will sell copies at the Chamilia Festival and at the Temple City Museum; the society also plans a book launch on April 4 and will open the museum for special hours during the festival weekend. She urged residents to buy from the Historical Society so proceeds support the nonprofit—s work rather than larger retailers.
Mayor and council members complimented the volume—s photographs and historical detail and encouraged residents to visit the museum and related events.
