Melissa Caldwell, speaking during public comment, announced Operation Baby Shower, a monthlong donation drive for military families running March 1–31. "We are doing Operation Baby shower," Caldwell said, and noted there are six drop boxes within Laguna Niguel, including one at city hall and one at the community center. She thanked local partners — including Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church and the Chamber of Commerce — and said the group also maintains an Amazon wish list for direct deliveries to the community center.
Frank McGrath added that the USS Stockdale unit they support experienced deployment extensions, increasing the need for family support; Caldwell said volunteers provided about 22–25 newborn gift packages last year and the list for this year was already near 20 and growing.
How to help: donations may be dropped at the identified locations through March 31 or ordered via the Amazon wish list (search: "Laguna Niguel Military Support Committee"), after which volunteers will consolidate and distribute items to military families.
