Public commenter urges Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified to support AB 715 and bolster Holocaust coverage

Miss Davidson told the board that the state legislature would soon vote on Assembly Bill 715 and asked the district to make its position known and consider a supporting resolution. The commenter urged the board to clarify what supplemental materials teachers will use to meet California content standards and asked how teachers are addressing the standard that calls for students to "analyze the Nazi policy of pursuing racial purity ... and the Holocaust that resulted in the murder of six million Jews." She said two board members are running for state office and that the community would like to know their positions on the bill.
Board members did not act on the request during the meeting; public comment was part of the meeting's non‑agenda comment period. The presentation drew no formal board motion or vote. Trustees and staff acknowledged the concern during later discussion of curriculum and the strategic plan, and staff offered to provide follow‑up information about instructional materials and any recommended supplements.
