Committee recommends confirmation of three nominees to Maine Turnpike Authority

William Benson of Gorum said he was drawn to the role because of his private‑sector and nonprofit experience and his interest in local transportation issues; Jane Lincoln described more than three decades of state government experience and her service as vice chair of the Turnpike Authority; Thomas Zuk said he brings financial oversight experience as a certified public accountant and bank executive.
Board leadership and the authority’s executive director, Andre Brier, testified in support of the nominees. After public hearings and a short delay to accommodate statutory timing requirements, the committee took roll‑call votes. Each nominee received 10 affirmative votes and zero negative votes on the recommendation to the Senate.
The committee closed the hearings and moved on to other agenda items. The hearings are recorded and committee recommendations will be transmitted to the Senate as required by statute (3 MRSA section 157).
