Laura, the Secondary Roads presenter, said the project replaces a bridge with a twin box culvert located roughly one-tenth of a mile east of K67. Two bidders responded: Dixon Construction at $42,626.80 and Graves Construction Company at a higher bid. Laura said the county had estimated the project at about $600,000 and that the low bid came in approximately 25% under the county’s estimate.
"This bridge is a replacement that's on 325th Street, which is approximately a tenth of a mile east of K67," the presenter said, explaining the location to the public. The chair moved to award the bid to Dixon Construction; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board recorded the award and directed staff to prepare a contract with the low bidder. No additional conditions or contingencies were recorded in the meeting discussion.
