The board recognized the competition shooting team and girls flag football as varsity sports; discussion noted girls wrestling must complete two successful club seasons before petitioning for varsity status (the program needs one additional year as a club). The board also approved an overnight music-department trip to Walt Disney World, scheduled for Jan. 16–21, 2027, with the usual permissions and supervision requirements.
On contracts, Superintendent John explained an Auburn Career Center middle‑school expansion agreement will provide the district roughly $26,000 for career‑technical services the district supplied to middle‑school students. The board approved a three‑year renewal with Smiles; meeting remarks said the renewal included a below‑market increase and reflected strong local service.
The board voted to keep school fees unchanged for 2026–27 and approved course guides for Berkshire High School and Berkshire Middle School for the 2026–27 school year. Members praised the high school's detailed guidance materials and said the middle school charts are aligning to those pathways.
Board members announced they are interviewing candidates to replace Beth as treasurer over the next two weeks; a hiring date was not set. The board set its next meeting for April 13, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium and adjourned after a final roll call.
