Moren Brunchidle opened the meeting’s tenure recognition by saying, “Achieving tenure is a recognition of sustained excellence, dedication, and a proven commitment to our district and our students.” Brunchidle announced that 12 teachers and two administrators were being recognized and described individual accomplishments and leadership contributions for each recipient.
Among those praised were Laura Fines (school counselor), McKenna (health and physical education), Kayla (music), Vinnie (health and physical education coach), Alicia (reading intervention), Tori (behavior specialist), Gracie “Miss Mac” (inclusion advocate), Mr. Walsh (art instructor), Paul (AIS instructor), Lynn (department support), Risa (ninth-grade RTI leader) and administrators Alan (administrative leader) and Taylor (instructional leader). Brunchidle said each honoree would receive a crystal apple as a token of appreciation.
The board and the audience offered formal congratulations. Board members used their remarks later in the meeting to underscore the district’s respect for teachers and staff and to thank parent-volunteer groups for support during Teacher Appreciation Week.
The recognition was presented as part of the regular reports and presentations section of the meeting; no formal board action was required beyond the scheduled acknowledgements.
