Item D: Board members discussed a necessary model change for district Chromebooks after the originally planned device was discontinued. Miss Kimmel, the district instructional technology coordinator, said the supplier had introduced a different model that passed the district’s tests, that the supplier showed stock of 35,000 units and that the price difference relative to the originally planned model amounted to roughly $50 per device in the district’s comparison. The board moved to approve the revised Chromebook purchase and the motion carried unanimously.
Item E: Mr. LeFountain briefed the board on referendum-related bid packages and the project tracker. He said the specific approval requested was a bid package of about $8.9 million as part of larger phase-one work; overall phase-one figures discussed during the briefing were approximately $19.5 million with additional phase work starting as early as May and extending through the summer. Board members asked for confirmation that ADA projects would be prioritized per the referendum commitments; administration confirmed ADA work and deferred-maintenance items are being scheduled for summer shutdown work at multiple schools. The board approved the referendum bid package.
Item F: Administration described recommended salary adjustments identified through three comparisons (service-year discrepancies versus salary letters, quartile comparisons district-wide and by department) and said the adjustments would be covered within the existing budgeted salary dollars for 2025–26 rather than the referendum operational funds. Board members voted to approve the employee salary adjustments.
All three separate consent items (D, E and F) passed on roll calls recorded at the meeting. Board members said they appreciated the clarifications and asked administration to continue providing detailed budget breakdowns and project-tracking updates.
