Members of the senior parent committee updated the Marshall Board of Education on two related community events: the 20th annual “Luck of the Irish” fundraising dinner/raffle and the district’s Project Graduation celebration.
Mrs. Jackie Marshall, speaking as a senior parent committee representative, said the Luck of the Irish dinner raised funds and distributed $11,130 in prize money at the event (including a $10,000 grand prize and multiple smaller prizes). The committee reported approximately 430 carry‑out meals and 108 dine‑in meals during the March event and credited broad community sponsorship and student volunteer help.
Marshall said Project Graduation will provide supervised entertainment from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on graduation night and that prizes (laptops, small appliances, gift cards and cash) are used to incentivize attendance. She said historically about 125 graduates attend Project Graduation and that guests are permitted in limited circumstances.
As part of the prize package, the committee said Missouri Valley College offered a one‑year full‑tuition scholarship for a Marshall High School senior; the scholarship will be awarded as one of the Project Graduation prizes. The committee named numerous sponsors and volunteers who supported the Luck of the Irish event, and it emphasized the role of student volunteers in food service and logistics.
Board members thanked the committee and encouraged continued community support. No board vote was required on the fundraising report; committee members asked the board to continue facilitating communication with school administration for planning and ticketing logistics.
