The Manassas Park governing body approved an ordinance on March 3 amending section 22-28 to change the due date for tax-relief applications from April 1 to June 30 of each year.
The amendment was included on the consent agenda alongside approval of meeting minutes from Feb. 3, 2026; a council member moved, a second was recorded, and the body approved both items by voice vote. The ordinance was adopted without further debate at the meeting.
The change gives applicants an additional three months to submit tax-relief paperwork; the governing body approved the amendment as presented and it will be reflected in city code and implementation guidance issued by the Commissioner of Revenue's office.
