Escambia County board approves reciprocal licenses and a reinstatement, clears three applicants to proceed

At its March 4 meeting the Escambia County board approved three license applications (one exam approval, two reciprocity approvals) and reinstated a delinquent doors/windows license following staff recommendation and unanimous board votes.
The Escambia County Contractor Competency Board approved licensing actions for four applicants on March 4, 2026.
The board approved Dalton Walker Hike to take the residential contractor examination after staff presented 14 years’ prior experience in Maryland and a Florida advanced building code certificate. The board approved Melissa Freeman’s reciprocity application after staff confirmed she previously tested with Santa Rosa County and provided required documentation. Billy Gray’s reciprocity for an Okaloosa County sprinkler/irrigation license was approved after staff reviewed his 18 years’ experience. Finally, the board approved a motion to reinstate Brian David Erdman’s delinquent doors, windows and siding license (DWS00087) upon payment of outstanding fees; staff had verified the applicant’s criminal history was clear.
All four actions were approved by voice vote; staff indicated the supporting documents are in the agenda packet and that applicants met the county’s application requirements.
