Tinley Park board honors local businesses, proclaims awareness weeks and confirms multiple staff appointments

The Tinley Park Village Board on May 5 recognized local contributors, approved proclamations and confirmed staff appointments.
The board adopted a resolution honoring the Breitbart family’s role in the village’s agricultural history and presented commemorative street signs designating an honorary name at 76th Avenue and 159th Place for one year. Village staff also presented a business spotlight on Winston’s Market; owner Mike Winston introduced himself and noted the store’s catering and senior meal support.
Trustee Kenneth E. Shaw introduced and the board adopted a proclamation declaring May 2026 Motorcycle Awareness Month in recognition of AATE of Illinois’ work promoting motorcycle safety. Trustee William P. Brady moved to adopt Resolution 2026-R051 recognizing May 3–9, 2026 as Municipal Clerk Week; the board approved the resolution and publicly thanked clerk’s-office staff.
Personnel confirmations included the board’s approval of Timothy O’Hagen as assistant fire service administrator (effective May 6, 2026), Kenneth Howard as street and fleet superintendent (effective May 6, 2026), Rebecca Rizzo as building permit technician (effective May 26, 2026), and several FY2027 committee and liaison assignments recommended by President Michael W. Glattz.
