Nicole Brasani, President and CEO of the Inland Valley Humane Society (IVHS), briefed the La Verne City Council on the organization’s 2025 activities and services on Oct. 20.
Brasani said IVHS launched a mobile unit (the "Good Mobile") in January 2025 and that the kickoff included a free vaccine clinic that "35 pets were vaccinated, microchipped, and licensed." She described expanded low‑cost veterinary services, a trap‑neuter‑return (TNR) program for community cats (quoted rate: $70 per TNR), and specialty low‑cost events that target particular breeds.
Brasani said IVHS staff and volunteers supported wildfire evacuations earlier in 2025 by helping at regional evacuation sites and assisting partner organizations with animal transport. She also announced that IVHS is finalizing an acquisition of the St. Gabriel Valley Humane Society; operations and shelter services for that campus are expected to transfer to IVHS on Nov. 1, 2025, under the IVHS parent organization (Humane Society Pomona Valley Inc.), while continuing to do business under both names.
Brasani encouraged residents to license pets and explained that IVHS will conduct licensed canvassing in La Verne beginning Oct. 28; door tags and follow‑up mailings will notify households about licensing requirements. She also described partnerships introduced to adopters, including pet insurance through Fetch and an app partnership to improve return‑to‑home services (Petco Love Lost integration).
The council thanked IVHS for community outreach and for providing low‑cost services. Brasani closed by listing donation needs (blankets, towels, new/unopened pet food) and contact information for residents seeking more details.
