Planning staff (Mr. Holland) told the council the tract map — originally approved in September 2021 while the property was in unincorporated Los Angeles County — would subdivide the site into nine lots, seven of which were identified for single‑family dwellings. The property was annexed to La Verne in 2024 and the applicant requested an additional year to progress through plan check and permitting.
The extension, if adopted, establishes a new expiration date of Nov. 3, 2026, and would represent the beginning of the fifth year of the allowable extensions under state law (the statutory maximum is 10 years). No members of the public offered comments on the item.
Council approved the resolution by a 5–0 vote (motion by Council Member Johnson; second by Council Member Crosby).
What happens next: the applicant may continue design and permitting work toward plan check and building permits under the extended timeline; staff remains available to answer procedural questions.
