Humboldt County workforce board approves consent items, draft Feb. 27 agenda and two HCWDB applicants

The Humboldt County Workforce Development Board on Jan. 30 approved routine consent items, adopted a draft full-board agenda for its Feb. 27 meeting and accepted two applications for HCWDB seats.
Chief Local Elected Official Steve Madrone moved to approve the consent items; Member Kerry Venegas seconded. The motion carried, 8–0. During the consent listing the clerk noted attendance review, grant tracking and the Oct. 31, 2025 minutes were included in the packet.
Members then reviewed the draft Feb. 27 full-board agenda. After discussion, Member Daniel Dixon moved to approve the draft agenda; Member Venegas seconded. The motion carried, 8–0.
The board reviewed two HCWDB applications: Sei Hee Hwang, listed as representing Adult Education, and Ciara Emery, listed as representing Native American Employment Development. Member Shelley Nilsen moved to approve both applications; Member Daniel Dixon seconded. That motion passed, 9–0.
No members of the public offered comment during any of these items. The board adjourned at 10:02 a.m.
