Cam Elwood briefed trustees on the district’s five‑year E‑rate plan to update end‑of‑life network equipment. He said the district’s E‑rate discount rate is 70% and that bids were solicited through the federal program; NetX submitted the lowest bid at $219,609.54.
Elwood said the district’s share for eligible items is $65,882.86 and that the amount is built into the technology budget. "We are currently at a 70% discount rate," Elwood said, describing the federal program’s role in helping schools afford networking equipment.
A motion to approve the E‑rate purchases and the district share of $65,882.86 was made and seconded; trustees voted to approve the purchase. Staff said equipment will be prioritized according to the five‑year plan and scheduled for installation at Hubbard, Kuna Middle and Reed next year, with additional schools in subsequent years.
