Board approves $66,730 bid to replace water heaters at two elementary schools

Assistant Superintendent Bridal Graves presented two bids to replace aging water heaters at Reed Elementary and Crimson Pointe and said the work could be done with district maintenance oversight this summer. She said Unique Plumbing submitted the lowest responsive bid at $66,730 and that the district could perform the work under its capital projects allocation.
"This will be using the ... smaller capital projects," Graves said, and added that Johnny, the district’s maintenance manager, could supervise in‑house work if the board chose that route. Trustee 5 moved to accept Unique Plumbing’s bid for $66,730; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Staff indicated the cost is already built into the technology/maintenance budget line and that the work could proceed this summer under district supervision or by contract depending on scheduling.
