Under the consent agenda, the commission approved a new southbound bus stand at 127 4th Avenue South (a second WeGo stop on the same block near the Hilton) after NDOT engineer Andrew Smith confirmed the proposed location sits slightly north of an existing stop and outside the 30‑foot safety buffer from a nearby crosswalk.
Commissioner questions focused on crosswalk visibility and pedestrian signage; NDOT said staff would review signage and sightlines to shore up pedestrian safety near the new bus stand.
Separately, the commission approved a request from ENDOT (Emanuel Matias) to waive parking fees for three summer Open Streets dates (May 16, June 13 and July 11), covering about 67 spaces and an estimated revenue loss of approximately $2,000. Staff noted the parking system reports at zone level only, making per‑street lost‑revenue tracking approximate; commissioners asked staff to attempt more granular comparison with last year’s data.
Both items were approved after motions and seconds by commissioners.
