Staff estimated total cost to disassemble and replace bearings, seals, gaskets and the shaft at about $37,100. The Public Services Committee had reviewed and recommended the emergency repair.
Trustees moved, seconded and approved the emergency expenditure by roll call. Trustees said the repair is necessary to maintain compliance and avoid environmental and public‑health consequences. The board did not provide a separate timeline for completion during the meeting; staff follow-up on repair scheduling was not specified.
