Lavaca County approves gravel contracts, advertises road seal bids, signs oil-and-gas division orders and passes multiple administrative items

At its March 25 meeting Lavaca County Commissioners approved multi-vendor gravel contracts, authorized bids for seal coating, approved oil-and-gas division orders and an EOG bonus form, renewed insurance coverage, accepted routine consent items and adopted several proclamations.
Lavaca County Commissioners used their March 25 meeting to clear a range of procurement, property and administrative items, approving vendor awards, authorizing advertising for roadwork bids, and finalizing oil-and-gas division orders.
The court unanimously approved three vendors for supply of Gravel Post Oak Pit Run with red binder and screened 1½" gravel (bid #1784, #1785 and #1786) to serve stockpiles and delivery locations across county precincts. Commissioners also voted to authorize advertising for bids for seal coating and resealing of Lavaca County roads (publication dates March 24–April 4).
On oil-and-gas matters the court approved a Lavaca County Road Bonus Form with lessee EOG Resources, Inc. for 0.77 acres on LCR 328 in the amount of $770. The court approved a Gas Division Order between Hurd Enterprises LTD and Lavaca County (receiver for 25th Judicial District Court Cause No. 2022-04-24944CV) and approved a Division Order with Baytex Energy to include wells Pluto A 1H, B 2H, C 3H and D 4H; motions carried unanimously.
Administrative approvals included approval of bonds for two Sheriff's Office employees, acceptance of a $5,236.73 payment from the Texas Comptroller (LEOSE fund) for training, renewal of 2025–26 property/contents coverage with the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool, transfer and surplus declarations for obsolete county property, and authorization assigning the county auditor as a payment processor in the TDA-GO grant system for the 2025–26 Texas CDBG project. Presentations included supplemental-insurance information from Higginbotham and an update from the Yoakum Economic Development Corporation. The court approved proclamations recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month, Autism Acceptance Month, and National Telecommunicators Week, and approved writing letters to household-waste collection companies to address dumpsters obstructing county right-of-way under Texas Penal Code § 42.03.
The court approved the consent agenda, which included minutes, deeds, waterline permits, process-service reports and routine financial reports, and adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
