The package included a shared‑services agreement with Mammoth County for community rating system (CRS) project‑management software (R25179), two waiver requests to permit alcohol at community center rentals (R25180 and R25181), authorization of a non‑fair and open contract for professional services for the South Peak drainage improvements project (R25182), a property tax cancellation (R25183), authorization to pay municipal bills (R25184), and a change order for Short Shore Drive pedestrian improvements (R25185).
Council members asked staff for details on several items before the vote. Staff confirmed that the CRS software agreement runs from Aug. 26 to March 27 and that the county dictated the six‑month term; the arrangement was described as producing a substantial reduction in fees for the borough. On the Short Shore Drive change order, staff said the adjustment added restriping work — new yellow centerlines, parking stall markings and stop bars — along Shore Drive.
Mayor’s report: The mayor reported September incident statistics and building‑department activity and gave updates on public works projects: Marine Place walkway concrete work, tree plantings and finish work on Shore Drive, North Street repairs, paving and striping of the VFW parking lot, and progress at Overlook and Frank Hall parks with a target to complete major work before Thanksgiving if weather permits. The mayor said the borough received a Mammoth County Open Space grant totaling $225,000.50 to resurface playgrounds at Huie, Wreck and Veterans parks and to repair courts at Snug; other grant announcements (CDBG and Safe Roads) are pending and expected in early 2026.
Executive session and adjournment: The council adopted a resolution to convene an executive session after the regular meeting under N.J.S.A. 10:4‑13 to discuss attorney‑client privileged matters related to sidewalk maintenance; the meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
