Bernards Township introduces ordinance to accept riparian conservation easement at 24 Brier Lane

Deputy Mayor McN moved to introduce the ordinance on first reading, saying the ordinance would be "introduced on first reading advertised as required by law and scheduled for a public hearing on December 23rd, 2025." The motion received a second and passed by unanimous roll call.
The introduction does not adopt the easement itself; instead it sets the ordinance for public hearing and further vote at the Dec. 23 meeting, at which members of the public will have the opportunity to comment as part of the statutory hearing process. The ordinance language, as read for introduction, describes the parcel and identifies the conveyance from 301 Garrett, LLC to the township as a riparian zone conservation easement.
Town staff indicated the ordinance will be advertised as required by law and that additional documentation will be available in the clerk's office and on the township website prior to the hearing. No final acceptance vote occurred during the Dec. 9 meeting.
The committee also approved the consent agenda by voice/roll call before taking up the ordinance introduction; consent items were enacted as a single motion and received unanimous approval.
