HRSA officials outline OPTN modernization plan, stress continuity and multi‑vendor contracting

Brianna highlighted recent deliverables including a new website, expanded analytics dashboards and an OPTN 411 call line.
HRSA officials emphasized that critical system functions — patient safety reporting, the matching system and core operations — were maintained during the contractor transition and that the agency has contingency playbooks to avoid service lapses. Brianna said HRSA is working to shorten public‑comment batching and to improve communication with the OPTN community following a late‑December transition that caused concern among members.
Board members raised questions about messaging, the experience of the HRSA team, and whether public dashboards should include Spanish language options; HRSA staff said they would follow up on those suggestions. HRSA also noted it has contracted with a core operations vendor for matching and committee support and is planning additional vendor transitions in early 2026.
The board received the briefing for situational awareness; no board vote was taken on the modernization plan at this session.
