Tim from User Services demonstrated recent Code Commons improvements—search functionality and easier access to published notebooks in the community workspace—and urged users to convert interactive notebooks into modular Databricks jobs and tasks for production use.
He explained that jobs reference notebooks by location and that editing a notebook updates the job run; task parameters and job parameters provide dynamic values. Tim and the team said modular code with error handling and checks is easier to debug remotely and supports scheduled automation (for example, a user who converted interactive code to a job now runs it daily at 6 a.m.). Attendees were encouraged to use Help Desk for hands‑on assistance.
