The City Council and members of the planning commission honored Commissioner Beverly Guan in recognition of her service to Temple City.
Commissioner Adam Scott recounted Guan’s service beginning with the general plan advisory committee and continuing through more than 52 planning commission meetings, noting her work on the city’s general plan, zoning code updates, conditional use permits, the ADU ordinance, SB9 ordinance and the city’s first density‑bonus affordable housing project. Council members and staff thanked her for attending many meetings, providing technical expertise and helping shape long‑range planning documents.
Guan accepted the recognition and said she felt fortunate to have served, praised the staff and commission for orderly presentations and diverse perspectives, and explained she planned a short break to ensure she could continue to attend meetings on time. The council presented a plaque in recognition of her service as planning commissioner from 2019 to 2025.
