City manager update: the city manager briefed the council on the upcoming autumn festival with World Journal, noting opening ceremonies at about 2 p.m. on Saturday and that staff were monitoring weather conditions.
City attorney briefing: the city attorney summarized the provisions of Senate Bill 79, a state housing bill, and told the council that SB 79 would allow denser development near specific major transit stops under defined conditions (heavy rail, commuter rail, light rail or bus with physically separated lanes plus additional criteria). He stated that, based on those definitions and the city's current conditions, SB 79 did not appear to apply to Temple City at this time.
Public comment: resident Jerry Jambasian used the public comment period to invite the community to a neighborhood watch meeting at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and to promote a fall festival and classic car show the following weekend.
Adjournment: with no further comments the council adjourned the meeting.
